The work that I love to do is transpersonal therapy; blending psychotherapy and spirituality, working with spiritual seekers. For three decades I have been a licensed psychotherapist and marriage counselor in private practice. Early in my career I experienced profound spiritual awakenings that deepened my perspective about the truest level of healing. As part of my commitment to continuing education in the field of healing, I completed a second Master’s Degree, in Consciousness Studies, becoming an Agape-licensed minister in 2012. (Agape is a trans-denominational, multi-ethnic spiritual center in Culver City, founded by Rev. Michael Beckwith.) It has been my spiritual home more than 25 years.
There are four levels of wisdom available to people; that of the mind, the body, the heart and the soul. Many people arrive in therapy attempting to use their intellect alone to figure everything out, to attempt to control people and events, but it doesn’t work well. The wisdoms of the body and the heart can help to release old pain, fear and negative beliefs about the self and others. The soul wisdom is the most graceful and profound guidance. My task is to cultivate enough trust, love and safety in sessions so that all aspects of the self can express freely.
In time, an inner, intuitive wisdom comes forth that gently leads people forward bit by bit. This soul wisdom is their unique, individualized path to Wholeness which I honor and follow. It is more graceful, fulfilling, loving, wise and powerful than anything else. Eventually the soul desires become paramount; soul expression feels most fulfilling and true. There’s a yielding to that limitless capacity within, a releasing of attachment to the smaller personality self, and a desire to be of service to others, in love.
